Start Your Get-Fit Program With Boot Camp Training

What is a Boot Camp?

Military boot camp is one of the most difficult and demanding physical training programs. Boot camp exercises prepare recruits for active duty. People who are looking to work out and increase their strength and endurance quickly, and want to do so in a military-inspired setting, turn to military-inspired exercises.

Bootcamp exercises are usually simple and straightforward. These exercises often require very little or no equipment. These workouts are quick-paced and help you train better and burn calories faster. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is also included in the exercises.

Before you start any type of exercise program, make sure to consult your doctor. Warm-up with 10 minutes of light cardio prior to starting your exercise routines.

Push-ups

Push-ups are considered one of the most effective exercises for body weight. They target the core, chest, and arms muscles. To support your body weight, use only your hands. Your back should be straight. Lower your chest towards the floor by bending your arms. At the bottom, hold the position for 1 count. To return to the original position, straighten your arms and don't lock your elbows. Four sets of 20 reps are required.

High-Intensity Interval Training, (HIIT)

HIIT sessions are a series of exercises that are performed at a low intensity for a time and then followed by a shorter period at maximum intensity. Jogging and running are the most basic HIIT exercises. Run for 2 minutes at a slow or moderate pace. Then sprint for 30-60 seconds. Repeat this process 4-6 times.

Burpees

Burpees provide a full body workout, working the muscles in the legs, arms and core. They also offer a good cardio workout. Start by standing with the feet about shoulder-width apart. Keep your arms at your side. Squat and place your hands on the floor in front of you.

Quickly whip your feet back, landing in a push-up position. Do one push-up and then jump your feet in, bringing them close to your hands. Jump up and raise your arms overhead. Return to the starting position and repeat. Do four sets of 20 reps.

A growing trend in fitness boot camps are the indoor locations which prove to be climate proof and provide a better environment for regular fitness workouts.
